West Tennessee Healthcare reaches milestone treating 100 patients with new Ion system
We are so proud to share that our physicians and care teams have achieved a high success rate in diagnosing lung nodules with the Ion system, recently reaching the milestone of treating 100 patients with the new system and helping our patients get the answers they need. Ion helps our team reach and biopsy nodules of varying sizes in all areas of the lung.
Completing 100+ Ion procedures means our patients potentially experienced fewer complications than they might with a needle biopsy, which has a similar diagnostic success rate but a higher prevalence risk of pneumothorax (collapsed lung).
Our data continues to prove that we’re at the forefront of providing advanced diagnostic care to patients with suspicious lung nodules, which can help them move more quickly from concern to care. Thanks to our doctors, Dr. Jonathan Davis, Dr. Robert Gilroy and our entire Ion care team, we’ve reached this impressive milestone and are positively impacting the lives of so many patients.
