Dr. Wright brings over 20 years of experience in the surgical treatment of Cardiothoracic and Vascular disease to West Tennessee.
He was born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, where he attended local public schools before graduating from Princeton University in 1991. After attending medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, he returned home for a 5-year General Surgery residency at Monmouth Medical Center (MMC), a community-based program which instilled the importance of service through exemplary medical and surgical care. Besides an outstanding clinical experience at MMC, he received intensive surgical training at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Dr. Wright completed a 2-year fellowship specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, in Madison, Wisconsin. Thereafter, he further specialized in a 2-year post-fellowship in Heart and Lung Transplantation at the University of California-San Francisco, caring for the sickest patients suffering from heart and lung disease. He is board-certified in General and Thoracic surgery.
