Last September, the Butterfly’s Embrace Perinatal Bereavement program cared for Shelby and Cameron Pruett as they gave birth and said goodbye to their baby girl, Lena Grace Pruett. Shelby’s mom, Dana Volner contacted the team with an idea to memorialize baby Lena, honor Shelby and Cameron and help other families by giving back to the bereavement program. She wanted to purchase a fund-raising wall of butterflies as a Christmas gift to Shelby and Cameron.
This wall of beautiful butterflies is located on the third floor at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Butterflies may be purchased to honor families who have lost a baby with profits benefitting the Little Butterflies fund. This fund was created to assist with upkeep and renovation of the Serenity Garden. Saturday, we celebrated sweet Lena and dedicated her wall to all the babies and families this program serves.
