Below are daily things you can do to keep your heart in check:
- WEIGH DAILY AND WRITE DOWN YOUR WEIGHT
(WEIGH FIRST IN THE MORNING AFTER YOU EMPTY YOUR BLADDER - TAKE YOUR MEDICINES AS INSTRUCTED
- EAT A LOW SALT, LOW-FAT DIET
- LOOK FOR SWELLING IN YOUR LEGS OR BODY
- PACE YOUR ACTIVITIES
- DO NOT SMOKE
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU:
- Gain three or more pounds in one day or gain three to five pounds or more in one week
- Have more trouble breathing (especially during activity or when lying flat)
- Wake up short of breath at night
- Start having a cough
- Feel more tired or weak
- Notice swollen feet, ankles and legs
- Have nausea, with stomach swelling
- Keep your follow-up appointment with your doctor
