Jarrod Beachum, a Physician Assistant, joined West Tennessee Neurosciences in August 2022. Before that, he dedicated nine years of service to the United States Marine Corps from 2004 to 2013. Following his honorable medical retirement, Jarrod pursued higher education, earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Memphis at Lambuth with University Honors and graduating magnum cum laude in December 2015.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Jarrod worked as a full-time emergency department patient care technician and part-time lab instructor. In January 2017, he embarked on the Physician Assistant Program at Bethel University, successfully graduating in 2019. After obtaining his PA credentials, Jarrod spent the first three years of his career in Urgent Care medicine before transitioning to neurosurgery at West Tennessee Neurosciences.
Jarrod is married to DeAnna, a fellow nurse at West Tennessee Healthcare. They have two children, Carter and Chloe. The family has been actively involved in scouting since 2017. Jarrod has held various positions within the organization, starting as a local Cubmaster and progressing to the medical staff of the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019.
As an Eagle Scout, Jarrod dedicates much of his free time to giving back to scouting. He currently serves as Scoutmaster of Troop 205 and will soon become Crew Advisor to high-adventure Venturing Crew #735. Jarrod’s commitment to his community extends beyond scouting. He serves as Sergeant at Arms and Honor Guard Commander of the Captain Jack Holland Marine Corps League Detachment #735 in Jackson, Tennessee.
