Robotic Surgery
If you’ve been told you need surgery, you may have several options to consider, including minimally invasive surgical procedures. One type of minimally invasive procedure is robotic surgery, performed using the da Vinci surgical system.
The da Vinci surgical system has brought minimally invasive surgery to more than 3 million patients worldwide over the last two decades. Find out why many patients and surgeons choose robotic surgery, and learn about the clinical evidence supporting its use:
What Is Robotic Surgery?
While it sounds like something from a sci-fi movie, it’s very real! With the da Vinci surgical system, surgeons operate through just a few small incisions.
The da Vinci system features a magnified 3D high-definition vision system and tiny wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human hand. As a result, da Vinci enables your surgeon to operate with enhanced vision, precision, and control.
The da Vinci system represents the latest in surgical and robotics technologies. Your surgeon is 100% in control of the da Vinci system at all times. The advanced technology translates your surgeon’s hand movements into smaller, precise movements of tiny instruments inside your body.
This often results in improved outcomes for patients, including reduced blood loss, less pain, and a quicker return to normal activities.
Robotic surgery procedures are performed at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, with some procedures done in the clinic.
